I have just finished my new old 235 in my new old 53. Right now I still have the original trans, and closed driveshaft. I refilled the trans with fluid and have the u-joint housing open because I still have to replace a retaining bolt in the u joint. Anyway, while getting the engine running right the trans was turning and trans fluid was running out where the u joint slips in. My question is..... Is there supposed to be a gasket of some sort that would keep the fluid from running into where the u joint is? Or is there supposed to be fluid in around the u joint too? Thanks
