If your timing is WAY off that could be part of the problem too, but at this point I would say next step is wires... Your wires should be soft and supple... If they are stiff, hard, or brittle then they are most likely bad.. do you have pictures of YOUR distributor up anywhere? Not just the cap, but the distributor and rotor etc...?
