Is net weight not the same as gross vehicle weight (GVW)?
Both being the weight of truck with the max recommended load?
Net weight would(or could) also include any trailer you would be towing, and it's load.
Down here when I register a truck I can choose how much of the GVW I want to pay for, so if I only plan to weigh 7,000 lb loaded then that's what I "buy", although the truck will haul more than that I would pay a fine if I were caught doing it.
Can you just have it registered for the minimum, just over empty, and get by with that?
Or does registering it as an antique help with that as it does here?
