Torque is all but meaningless. Ken you got the definitions right but fail the fundamentals. Proper gearing negates any difference in where the HP peaks. Put a 3:1 gearbox begind the 6000 rpm engine and you have for all practical purposes the same thing as a 500 HP 1800 rpm engine. Would you argue that a gas turbine with 500 HP at 20 krpm couldn't move as much as an equivalent HP engine operating a 1800 rpm??????
