Been there. Hats off to you for I know Exactly what your doing. My stepson calls me dad/pop and I call him son! Just the way it is. Wife and I agreed on one thing.....the more we love each others kids the more we love each other!
That said I remember a dear friend letting me drive his/her 1963 SuperSport to my Senior prom in 1966. It was that or the old beat up 54. I'll never forget their kind deed and I drove it nicely.....took it back home, got the old 54 and THEN went out on the town.
I can also remember my youngest daughter, she was 18 at the time, when I pulled over and told her to get behind the wheel of the 37 that as a small kid she had helped scrap the mud, muck, and the grease off the chassis ect. I'll never forget that ride and if I have the 37 when I die its hers!
