If I were single and had room for another 450 I would say road trip to Texas. I have bought, owned for awhile and sold two airplanes the past 7 years. One was in Boston, and one was in Florida. that was the best road trip....well I guess I did not use the road..trip I ever took getting them back to Seattle. In the winter now less.
My wife will not go in anything less than a Class A motorhome which is not happening but prefers the nice hotels when I take business trips. I am Eagle Scout so even the front seat of these trucks would work for me.
Thanks for the pictures Spanky, I guess since I started with a wide fender that is my preference. I actually can balance on the first step without holding onto the truck while getting up into the seat. I have these 5 inch kenworth
stacks in the way that would make it more difficult to swing in or out of the truck.
Spanky, My truck frame that the 450 came on is really big and long. It would have never fit on a 18 foot trailer. It had to be the longest
450 frame they built in 1950. It is missing the sub frame that the cab mounts on because I cut it off and it fit right on my 1972 K10 4x4 frame. Same width.
There are pictures of this on my webshot page after I welded
sub frame brackets on it so that I could bolt it on to the frame. I have this thing about weakening the frame with too much welding/heat on it
The 2 speed rear end and half the drive shaft are there. The previous owner took the engine and tranny out. I also cut out the first member so that I could mount the radiator bottom to it in my chevy truck frame. The tires and rims are still on it and it rolls. The guy I bought it from did not have a problem with me not taking it.
