I've put about 60,000 miles on a '46 pickup, with the stock front axle and springs. I have a 383cu. Chrysler motor sitting on top of it. So far it handles good, doesn't wear tires and tracks straight down the road. You have to have the axle aligned when you get finished with the job, or it won't drive good. I did put a disc brake kit on mine, because I pull a car trailer with it.
