For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 9 Member | | Member Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 9 | Thanks to all of you who have responded to my earlier post! . Right now I'm trying to decide on the front suspension. I havent seen any aftermarket ifs that seem to be stout enough. That means swapping in a later ifs from a C-20 (not sure if I can get it to fit so the truck sets the way I want) or go with new leaf springs and a new dropped axle that will accept the alcoa type rims. I have some concerns with making that combo handle correctly but millions of over-the-road trucks seem to make it work. I'd really like to hear from anyone who has stayed with the straight axle and has put some serious loaded miles on it. I'm thinking of using the 14 bolt rear with a custom built air bag suspension. | | |
