John as far as I can tell for the AD chevy trucks, the axles had 5 lugs and either had (a) a 5 bolt cap covering the bearing nut for the standard axle or (b) a 6 bolt cap for the heavy duty front axle. This is the information covered in the Chevrolet Master Parts book.
