Why not drop the motor in and see how it runs? It _may_ not need rings, and if you're only gonna run it for awhile it might be OK.
I've never heard that you can't unbolt babbits and the rebolt them if they are OK. Be sure not to mix up any parts, of course.
I've heard there are pressure-feed conversion kits; don't have any experience tho.
