For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 360 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 360 | i have a 51 235 that was bought as a quick fixer just to make my 46 truck go untill i found my motor. being a newbie i was told it was a press oiler. obv not. and now i have an oppor for the motor i was looking for.
the 235 seems in very good cond both top and bottom are very clean. pistons are stuck from moisture. i have them soaking now. if i decide to play w/ this motor and want to do the rings am i correct to assume that once i release the rods from the crank the babbitting is shot and NOT reusable!! i do not want to machine the crank and get that far into a motor i am not using.
so...if the babbitting is reusable, or i get it to turn the way it is, maybe i play withit, unless somebody wants or needs it say $250 the way it is and pick up in trevose pa. thnaks for the help
"it's only old if you can't find a use for it; otherwise it's cool and i'll use it."
