I'll save you from having to say it: as you pointed out in your original post, your code 9M34333718 only has one letter for the model and this does not give a match on any of the standard decoders (unless it's an unknown model from 1978).
Maybe someone can help you by taking your code and showing a result from either an on-line decoder or from some other documentation. It's possible that you are reading one of the characters wrong but that seems unlikely. Is there any chance you could post a photo of your ID plate (or, mail it to me and I will post it).
It looks like it was built in Norwood, OH but
"M" does not match up with any 1946 model number in this chart. Maybe it's a military truck and those IDs are different?
