i just wanted to let people know that i was tring to identify my rear axle from my 1971 chevy c20 cheyenne and had alot of great help and insite from forum pages but was still left unclear on waht i had. i found a site that raelly help to identify all types of rear axles from many age groups. i hope people can find it as handy and as insightful as i did . go to
www.ringpinion.com as it turns out the axle in my truck is an eaton ho52/72 still unclear as to which one exactly but its a great starting point. this site even has replacement parts for all rear ends including eatons. well happy trails my work continues.
