The secret to identifying a 292 over the others is measure the push rod covers, the two on the passengers side and if they are 6" in height then its a 292 like mine. If they are 4" then a 230/250. The 235s and 261s had a single pushrod cover the length of the engine and a large black crankcase breather tube on the same side. The 194s were only in cars for a short time. They ran good but no power for trucks. Their heads are sought after because the combustion chamber is small and boosts compression on the 230/250/292. Just a tidbit of info.
