Dwell around 32 - 34 deg. is ok .
Sounds like a carb problem . Did you do a full strip down and clear all the passages and jets ?
Sometimes it doesn't take a very large piece of grit to foul a passage , but blowing back through every drilling , with all the jets and metering devices removed can work wonders .
