Pretty good memory. To check any current up to 10 amps, move the red lead to the 10A port and connect the meter in series with the circuit you are checking.
Because the unit can only check up to 10 amps, which is a pretty hefty amount, there should be a scale that is marked DCA and goes from zero to 10. This would be the scale to read when patched into the 10 amp plug.
I'm looking at my little cheapo meter and it appears you don't have to select any function with the selector knob...when you plug into the 10 amp port, what you see is what you get, it automatically reads out in the DCA 0-10 amp scale.
