the problem indoors isn't so much combustion fumes as it is the danger of explosion if there's a propane leak, safety warnings might be primarily to avoid liability, but they do have a basis in the physical world ... propane 'pools' at the lowest point, you may get a suprise sometime when you drop your trouble light on the floor and the bulb breaks
