I have all my work sand blasted. It usually runs me $95.00 per hour and no primer. I usually get everything home and epoxy coat it right away.
I dealt with soda blasting and it's really a mess and it doesn't remove the deep pitted rust.
Other media is too expensive. At about $30.00+ for a five gallon bucket, it's hard to imagine blasting that stuff out in the open. Media is great if you have a blasting cabinet where it can be collected and reused.
Sand is the only way to go with a cab and other large items.
