Try cleaning up the points on those old ones. Get a real fine point file & file them lightly, then take a dollar bill & rub it over them like a shoeshine rag. Then try em again. That often will fix them. After you get it working get a voltmeter & put it across the battery. With the battery charged up good it should charge at 7-7 1/2 volts. It will be slightly higher with the cover off. Are you shure the gen is o.k.
