I have a '48 Chevy half-ton. According to the 1929-1949 Master Parts Catalog, the part number should be 1118201 (fits 40-48, all Chevy vehicles). The regulator for 1949, and I assume later, too, calls for a 1118301. Can the 301 be used on a '48? If not, what is the significant difference between them?
I see that Jim Carter lists a regulator that fits the years 1940-1955. How can this be?
