Thanks Ken, Funny you should mention it, but that's the same bearing maker I found and I figured out virtually the same set up (once they gave me the idea), only with hk2216 bearings. The one ton king pins measure at 23.40 mm, so the 22mm ones work, and they are 16mm long, which like in your kit, you use 2 of them on top an bottom.
The shop guide has some interesting info. Front axle spec on 1/2 ton shows king pins at .866" with bushing inside diameter at .868" On the 3/4 ton and 1 ton (with some of the 4000 series) its .921 for the king pin and .923 for the bushing inside diameter. (Page 3-44 in your 58 chevy truck books boiz)
So I guess the .002 of slop in there might account for the looseness you feel on install. Knowing that the pins are drilled for grease is very helpful. Thanks.
