TonyM- You got solids or hyd in that 54 block? My 54 solid lift motor did use a restriction in the oil line in the pushrod cover. Keeps from pumping too much oil up top. But unless you've got oil flooding and spraying everywhere up top, its prolly a bottom-end thang....
