Have you checked Jasper? I had a garage look at my 54 1/2 ton 235 when I had compression problems and they offered me a deal on a Jasper rebuilt short block. I just did the head and things were fine, so I never looked into it. They never mentioned a price, but Jasper used to be pretty reasonable.
