Dave knows his stuff.
If you recall years ago the Firebird graphic on the hoods, those were done the same way in the factory. One guy on each side of the hood, spray the hood with soapy water, peel the backing off that huge sticky thing, lay it on the hood, slide it into position, the squeegee the soapy water out from under the graphic.
The soap just breaks the surface tension so you get a thin film of water instead of drops.
