I'm glad this question was posted, because now I'm really confused.
My 1946 216.5 C.I. Chevrolet pickup has no oil filter on it at all. There is also no reference in the 1946 Shop Manual about an oil filter. Can this be true? If not, can someone help to guide me through the installation of one? To me it just doesn't make any sense that this engine wouldn't have an oil filter.
