I believe you will be able to run those plates if the numbers are not currently in use. I understand you will need to take a picture of your 58 with you to the dps office. Also I hear it is best if you don't paint your plates before you show them to the clerk. It seems they don't appreciate repainted plates. I will doing the same thing soon.
