I have the chance to buy a good T-5 tranny cheap. I have been told that all you have to do is cut the input shaft about 1/2 inch and then it bolts directly into a 50 chevy bell housing with a 235ci with no other modifications. Is this true? Are flywheel or clutch mods necessary? The tranny is out of a 1988 chevy S-10 with a mechanical speedo. I have a 3.90 1957 chevy rear end. Will this be a good match as far as ratio's for HWY driving?
