From Northern tool to hold 216's and 235's
They will not work well as designed, I used a cutting torch to trim the top of the stands by cutting 45 degree reliefs so the oil pan flange wouldn't be damaged.
I also cut the web from the angle iron on the cross bar so that it would fit between the oilpan and the flywheel / bellhousing for motors that had the tranny still attached.
I didn't use the cross piece for the part of the stand that went under the front of the motor - instead I drilled newer holes below the existing hole and used a 3/8" piece of allthread to suck the towers about 1/4" closer together.
All mods took about an hour on the first one and about 15 minutes each on the others once I had a system down.
Now I can roll a 235 around in my shop with ease and it fits under the stair case with a bag over it - no problem.
