#28144 10/01/2003 3:27 PM | Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 504 Member | | Member Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 504 | There are four holes in the bracket of a GMC style oil filter. The GMC and the Chevy engine used two completely different styles.
Remove the upper and lower two bolts in the front side of the push rod cover and the holes will line up to bolt on the filter canister..
Originally there were flex lines that connected the filter to the block. I used steel line for mine. My thought was that the canister was bolted to the block so the vibration would be non-existent...
