I've got a engine, in a parts COE I have that I'm not sure what it is. The previous owner said it was a 261, but I'm leaning more towards a 235. I purchased two COE's from this guy, a '54 Chevrolet COE, & a 55 1st series Chevrolet COE. Both trucks were supposed to have 261's, but they weren't identical. The engine in the '54 had the sergent strips, that were described in another thread, but the other engine does not. The engine in question, has a tag rivited to the block that says, "Rogers Remanufactured Engine", Cyl. 040, Main, 010, Rod 010 . It has a Casting No. 3733950, on the Block, & Casting No. 3835913, on the Head. What have I got ?
