Thanks guys, I guess I have a 261ci. engine , with a 235 head. This engine had supposedly been rebuilt, a second time, about 7 years ago, & not run. The COE, that it is in, had been butchered by someone trying to make a 5 window cab out of it. When I purchased it, along with the 261 equipted '54 COE, the P/O informed me that it had this, rebuilt, ready to go, 261 engine in it. After I got it home, & decided that the sheetmetal on this truck was useless, I removed the cab, & examined the engine more closely. I found that it was stuck, & was full of water.(cab had no top )I also noticed that it didn't have the captain bars, that the '54 COE engine had on it. I pulled the oil drain plug, & removed the water, & oil, & haven't touched it since. Was planning on selling it, if it was a 235, but if it is indeed a 261, I want to rebuild it again, & install it in my '51 1/2 ton pickup. Once again, I thank you guys, for your help. Any drawbacks to having a 235 head on a 261 engine.
