Although we all hate SUV's all the past Jeep Grand Cherokees use a solid front drive axle.They ride and handle as as good as any IFS model.The nice part about disc's is the control you have when stopping hard.Drums are more prone to locking up, harder to control in a panic situation when there is no time fart around.The non power front discs on my 37 scrub off speed better than a newer truck.The drums on the 51 feel pretty good ,but there is absolutley no comparison , the discs are better.
