Well, at the risk of being kicked off the board, I will confess that my 50 gmc now has a 350 with HEI and 600 cfm carb. Funny how so many of us thought the same thing was cool. I woulda rebuilt my 228 in-liner if the block hadn't been cracked. I did a fair amount of research/tinkering when I first fired my 350 to figure out what to set the timing, since I put in a mild cam, it was necessary to move the timing to around 14 degrees advance. I think the factory spec was 8 degrees, and it would barely run. Good luck on yer truck.
