all I can say is if it doesn't work, and linkage is not messed up, and the goo level is right - you could open the pan and see what's in there - but even then - dunno what you would do next.
If the filter is clogged you could replace it - but still - if it was clogged - could be from metal - making and much bigger issues.
You could try a junque yard tranny replacement.
