if the oil cooling line from tranny popped off the radiator, then it will dump oil everywhere and get on the headers and burn and make a stink. Pull pan and check that no major bits are in it, some old clutch material and stuff is ok.
Clean all, reassemble, put line back on, fill with goo, should go again.
Question is - was line old and just gave way?
