I am having my 235 rebuild on my 52 1/2tonner and am curious which tranny options I have for swapping.
Ideally I want to hang on to the original 3-on-the-tree shifter assembly and my closed torque-tube driveshaft.
I have Patrick's 3:55 rearend and read in the catalogue about the saginaw 4speed being ideal for my setup.
Is there a tranny with overdrive, that I can use with my original shifter and driveline?
I have also seen overdrive add-ons.
Is there one that would fit my original 3speed?
I am thinking of having the overdrive lever on the floor right next to the bench, maybe.
Is something like that possible or is that just a dream of an eager to learn beginner at this?
