I also don't know how hard it would be to find a Task Force series rear end for reasonable $.
Regarding this question....I recently picked up a complete 55 1/2 ton rear in good condition for $100, so they are out there.
Also...I think any 55 thru 69 1/2 ton rear will
work as far as width goes and will still have the 6 lug pattern.
