In one of the replies about the 366, we can realize that lack of proper mainteance was the biggest issue of all, because if You left an engine runnunig so bad, misfiring to the point of spiting a rod thru the block, nothing else can be said.
On the other hand, the 366 is just a rat ayway, all others are so well loved, why just this one would be the worst engine in town? may eat cams as all other bigblock chevies, may have the flow in the head limited by the small bore, and may have some lubrication troubles in the distributor, but I'd not say it's a piece of junk. Just my 0,02.
