The 1954 Salesman Truck Data book gives the same figures Cletis posted above. This is for the 1954 3800 series 1-ton Medium Duty Truck. The 8800 lb rating is for dual rear wheels, 7.00-18, 8 ply tires, and auxiliary rear springs. There was also a 7,000 GVW rating for 7.00-17, 6ply front tires and 7.50-17, 8ply rear tires.
The dual rear wheel option (8,800 lb GVW) is not shown for the 3804 (Pickup), 3805 (Panel), or 3807 (Canopy).
The 3805 1 ton Panel had a curb weight of 4360 lbs plus the weight of other options, such as upgraded versions (if installed) of springs, shocks, radiator, generator, auxiliary seat, and 7.50-17 tires and wheels (plus perhaps the weight of some of the fluids).
