Although still not ready for prime time I took the truck out for a short 1 mile spin today to shake it down a bit. This was more akin to a dock trial rather than a sea trial, as I knew there were still a few pending issues to be resolved prior to venturing out too far. The biggest outstanding was that the newly rewound generator had a grounded armature and had to be taken back to the generator shop. For some reason the temperature gauge decided to stop working and there remains a mystery in the 4-way flasher circuit. The radio also decided it didn't want to work after being installed.
Hopefully next week I'll start driving it in earnest to discover what else needs attention and will then take it back to the body shop for some additional tweaking, alignment, and paint touch-up.
