are you loosing any water if so possible blown headgasket .if not if could be in timeing .if you can get a compressoin guage check each cylinder .try to find the exaust leak .manifold may be cracked through the intake side and loosing power there .i dont think that will make it run hot .im no expert but these are things to check at home before you go spend a bunch of money
