Interesting. I use silver solder quite a bit making brass parts for banjo makers. Conventional soft solder melts below 500&deg Fahrenheit while most silver solders melt above 1000&deg. I am surprised you didn't melt any of the adjacent soft solder when applying the silver solder.

It seems like it would be quite difficult to repair an area where both types of material were present.
