I,m with Joe. I have rebuilt many Monojets & have neverhad that problem. I believe when you get through it will be fine. There are 2 different gaskets between the throttle body & fuel bowl. Make shure you select the right one & get it on the right way. The link from the throttle to the metering rod has a tendency to fall out. You can bend it in a little if it tries to work out.
