I put a cable under the hood by the latch which dropped through the hole in the latch plate in front of the rad. I put an eye-bolt through the bottom valance and put a padlock on it. Easy access and especially comforting when the truck was kept in a garage away from here.
The cable had ferrules on each end and before putting them on I sleeved it in plastic. Simple and effective.
