A 1953 Canadian Chevy truck should have the same tie rod ends as an American built truck. There is a ball (not threaded) which fits into a socket and is held in place by cups and a spring. There is a screw head on the end of the tie rod which can be used to tighten/loosen the retaining cups on the rod.
