Baldy: What year did the trucks go to column shift on the three speeds? I thought the truck 1947 three speeds still had the floor shift, even though column shift was used on the 1940 Chevy cars.
In 1948, Chevrolet trucks went to a redesigned three-speed transmission with a column shift and shift-linkage attached to case side. In 1948, the parking brake changed to being activated by a pedal through the left side of the floorboard. Before 1948, the parking brake was activated by a lever next to the floor-shifter.
