3 Speed
First 2.94 to 1
Second 1.68 to 1
Third 1 to 1
Reverse 2.94 to 1
4 Speed
First 7.23 to 1
Second 3.48 to 1
Third 1.71 to 1
Fourth 1 to 1
Reverse 7.15 to 1
I've used first only twice seriously. Once to pull a stump. It required one 'pop' of the clutch. The second time I hauled a load of bricks out the basement level of a commercial building site up a 25% sand ramp.
Looking at these numbers it does look like the 3 speed is a little more street friendly with its slightly different 2 and 3 ratios. Never realized until now how much difference there was in the reverse as well.
