You are exactly right about needing to be dry and that's what most people don't do. A hair dryer is a good idea. I set them in the sun with low pressure compressed air blowing in them for several hours. I've never had one fail yet. I had to recoat a bike tank once after doing some welding on it. I called Kreem for their recommendation on how to fix the spot that was affected by the welding. I followed their instructions and had no problems with the repair.
