For sake of originality, try finding a factory original '64-'66 Chevy automatic steering column. I have replaced a few non-original steering columns on a few of my '64-'66 Chevy trucks with original used replacements bought on eBay. This route is a bolt-on and does not require shaft/rag joint modifications. Good luck with your project.
