I am confused as to what is too short. On my 49 3100 truck there is the filler tube on the tank, then a rubber hose, finally the metal tube with the gas cap. If it is the hose that is too short, I agree with Achipmunk. just get a longer filler hose.
Always get a 2nd opinion, especially if I am the source of the 1st opinion.
